The Continuous-Adaptive-Mesh-Refinement (CAMR) Eulerian code RAGE is a 1, 2, and 3 dimensional radiation hydrodynamics code that is being used to simulate a large number of different Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) and high-energy density experiments related to astrophysics. We will present the results of calculations of various experiments done or to be done on the NOVA, Omega and National Ignition Facility (NIF) lasers. These include empty cylindrical hohlraums, multiply-chambered hohlraums for opacity experiments, capsule implosions in hohlraums, Widnal (Kelvin-Helmholtz) instabilities, and ablatively driven and indirectly-driven supersonic jets. Several of these experiments utilize a cylindrical shock tube mounted perpendicular to the cylindrical hohlraum that is driven by the laser beams and provides the radiation drive for the shock tube. We will show that wall ablation of the primary hohlraum and subsequent on-axis stagnation sends an additional late time shock into these shock tubes. To represent the effects of this shock correctly requires 3 dimensional calculations. We will exhibit the strengths of the CAMR method in the RAGE code and some of the codes’ limitations due to the representation of curved surfaces with square zones. Comparison with other codes, test problems, and data from the above experiments will be shown.
