Class II methanol maser emission is closely related to IR-luminous sites of high mass star formation which are usually signposted by ultracompact HII regions. However, G305.2+0.2 contains two methanol maser sites, one with bright IR emission, but have no detected HII region. Our previous ATCA observations, which show the non-detections, also show an extended radio source offset from G305.2+0.2, which greatly affects our flux upper limit. We therefore propose to image the extended emission with compact ATCA configurations.
