Carbon: Atomic Data

Scientific paper

Radiative lifetimes for the 3s1P10,
4p1D2, and 4p1S0 levels of C
I are measured using time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) on a
slow beam of atomic carbon. A simple method is reported for generating
an atomic beam rich in metastable carbon atoms.
