We analyze the scalar radiation emitted by a source rotating around a black hole in the framework of Quantum Field Theory in curved spacetime and compare the results with those obtained using field theory in flat spacetime. We show that curved and flat spacetime results considerably differ for orbits close to the hole. We also show that most of the emitted energy escapes to infinity.
