The radar-range equation, if not carefully applied, will indicate that
power returned from corner-cube reflectors varies as the inverse fourth
power of the range. Careful attention to the meaning of each term in the
equation leads to an inverse second-power relationship. This result is
confirmed by analysis according to geometric optics.
