An analysis is made of particl acceleration in the magnetic-field reversal region in a stastionary uniform electric field connected with the motion of the magnetosphere through the solar wind. The acceleration process is described in a closed form, and approximate laws of quasi-adiabatic acceleration of ions in the magnetotail are derived. Various effects arising during the acceleration are examined for quasi-adiabatic and 'ordinary' adiabatic particles. The results obtained can be used to explain the heating of particles in the magnetotail and the formation of accelerated plasma fluxes along the plasma-sheet boundary.
