In the context of the hadronic phase transition in the early universe, the Plümer-Raha-Weiner model for quark confinement is found to limit the bag constant B to the narrow range (170 MeV)4-(190 MeV)4 for an assumed transition temperature of 200 MeV. Within this range of B, the duration of the phase transition in the early universe is found to be <=0.5 μs. The Behaviour of the speed of speed of sound as a function of temperature is also invesrtaigatd for a quark-gluom plasma with zero baryon number.
