The Regge calculus is used to calculate the inverse free propagator in the Lorentzian domain, showing explicitly the existence of gravitational waves in Regge calculus. A background metric differing slightly from diag(-1, 1, 1, 1) is considered. Expressions for the quantities in the Arnowitt-Deser-Misner 3+1 formulation of general relativity are obtained in terms of the Regge calculus variables.
