Extremely low frequency (ELF) pulsing hiss has been identified from low time-resolution plots of the maximum, median, and minimum signal detected by the filterbanks connected to the magnetic sensors on GEOS 2. Ten events are listed in a table. In these events pulsing hiss, pulsating aurora, and micropulsations were observed simultaneously on coincident of neighboring fieldlines. The phenomenological conclusions based on the considered case-studies are discussed. There is no long lasting pulse for pulse correlation between the pulses in the hiss observed at the equator and the pulsations in the aurora. The hiss pulses are irregular having a much broader spectrum of pulse-width than the auroral pulsations. There is some indication that, when averaged over several cycles the intensities of the two phenomena correlate. Recurrent propagating auroral forms are found to be associated with continuous irregular micropulsations, whereas pulsating auroral patches are associated with bursts of irregular micropulsations.
