It is shown that 160-min pulsations are present in the E-region and absent in the F-region; this latter finding may be connected with the effect of diffusion and neutral winds. The height interval of the existence of periodic oscillations with a period of 160 min makes it possible to study variations of the UV and X-ray spectrum, which adds to the understanding of the generation mechanism of large-scale pulsations of the sun.
