Simultaneously observed proton gyro-emissions and proton-cyclotron echoes from ISIS-2 topside ionograms are described. It is suggested that the waves originated in the plasma surrounding the ISIS-2 sounding antennae. The association of proton gyro-emissions and electrostatic MF waves must therefore be considered in explanations of proton-cyclotron echoes.
