It is shown that Pi2 geomagnetic pulsations are transported to low
latitudes by gyrotropic waves in the lower ionosphere. An analysis is
made of the space-time distribution of the field of geomagnetic
pulsations at the earth surface generated by a horizontal linear current
whose time dependence has an oscillatory character.
