Shock Waves: Atmospheres

Scientific paper

Self-similar flow behind a converging spherical shock wave in a non-uniform atmosphere has been discussed, taking gravitational forces into account. The total energy content of the flow is assumed to be a constant and medium satisfied power law, when motion is at rest. A comparative study of flow variables has been shown graphically for increasing and decreasing density for the self-gravitating gas.
