Using the smooth perturbation method the author treats the problem of Alfvénic wave propagation in a double plasma system. He solves the wave equation in the inhomogeneous plasma stream under the condition of axial symmetry. The approximate solution of the first order is obtained. It can be demonstrated that when the stream is inhomogeneous, self-scattering is present. Meanwhile the pure Alfvénic waves can propagate in a direction different from the static magnetic field and the longitudinal component of the magnetic field fluctuation may exist too. Both values in the approximation are small but not zero. Thus the author shows a mechanism to explain the presence of the longitudinal magnetic field in waves in the solar wind.
