Attention is given to the utilization of measurements between stations
on earth and reflectors embedded in artificial satellites or placed on
the moon. The discussion focuses on advances already made in geodesy and
geophysics using less accurate observations of artificial satellites and
briefly outlines previous lunar dynamical studies.
