Based on consistent data on thermodynamic constants of minerals (free energies and state equations) and the phase diagram of the Mg2SiO4-Fe2SiO4 system, profiles are constructed of density, adiabatic module, and seismic parameter for olivine mantle model at depths of 350 - 550 km at various temperatures and Fe/(Fe + Mg) ratios. A correlation is made of thermodynamic profiles with seismic data of the reference mantle model (PREM) and regional models (GCA, TNA). The fine gradient structures of the profiles of elastic properties and density in zones where solid-phase reactions occur have been investigated. Correlation between mantle temperature and iron contents is discussed. The study supports the hypothesis of a homogeneous pyrolitic composition of the top mantle and the transition zone.
