As argued in the literature, the heavy quark components in the collision hadrons may also provide sizable contributions to the hadronic production of the heavy flavored hadrons. Then, different to the fixed-flavor-number scheme (FFNS) as adopted in Ref.[16],we study the hadronic production of $B_s$ and $B^{*}_s$ mesons under the general-mass variable-flavor-number scheme (GM-VFNS) so as to consistently deal with the double counting problem from the two mechanisms, i.e. the extrinsic bottom mechanism via the subprocess $g+\bar{b}\to B^{(*)}_s +\bar{s}$ and the gluon-gluon fusion mechanism via the subprocess $g+g\rightarrow B^{(*)}_s+b+\bar{s}$. A comparative study of FFN and GM-VFN schemes are presented. At the TEVATRON, the difference between the two schemes is small, however such difference is obvious at the LHC, so the forthcoming experimental data on LHC shall provide a good chance to check which scheme is more appropriate to deal with the $B_s$ meson production.
