The problem of a magnetic cavity of linear current in a magnetoplasma is
solved for the case of hydrostatic equilibrium and for the case of
cavity motion in a cold plasma. The solutions approximately characterize
solar-flare ejections in the plane section of a large circle containing
a bipolar-group magnetic moment.
