Japanese lunar mission of the SELENE has been in development. The SELENE is carrying out final integration test after SAR (System Acceptance Review) and SRR (System Reliability Review) to target the launch in 2007 summer. The SELENE is remote-sensing mission orbiting the Moon for a year nominal and extension to collect the data for studying the origin and evolution of the Moon. There are installed fourteen instruments and experiments prepared for studies of the Moon, in the Moon, and from the Moon: elemental and mineral abundances, surface topography, gravity field, magnetic field, plasma environment, and terrestrial aurora. Landing missions scenarios for exploration and science of the Moon are studying in one-JAXA committee and working group. First lunar lander will be sent to the Moon in early 2010's for demonstration of lander / rover technology and environment measurements such as dust, radiation, and for lunar science of geology and internal structure.
