Quasars are an important tool to study the formation and evolution of
galaxies in the early universe. Numerous digital survey projects are
ongoing or to be going. It is urgent to preselect quasar candidates from
the projects via automated methods. We introduce some possible data
mining algorithms to meet the requirement.
