Chemical analyses of basalts and fines from Apollo-11, 12, and 15 have been obtained from the lunar data base, and the percentages of Al, Si, and Mg have been computed. The data obtained are applicable to studies of the relationships between these elements and the ratios they yielded for lunar samples, and serve as a between and within-mission comparison of basalts and regolith samples. In addition, the interpretations based on Al/Si and Mg/Si concentration ratios may be extended to other applications, such as defining a calibration curve for determining the Al content of the sampled surface.
