Earth solar eclipses occur at a certain time of the year around the vernal and autumnal equinoxes and at a certain time of the day around midnight at satellite longitude, local time. Their effects on broadcasting can be reduced by positioning the satellite in the west of the service area so that, according to the local standard time of the service area, these eclipses occur after midnight. In contrast, moon solar eclipses do not occur with such regularity, and their effects on broadcasting cannot be avoided. In this paper, in order to predict the occurrence of moon solar eclipses, the orbits of the moon, the sun and a geostationary satellite are calculated to obtain a relationship between the satellite's orbit and the shadow made by the moon. Prediction results for the occurrence of moon solar eclipses which will occur between 1978 and 1985, together with the range of eclipses (east longitude), are tabulated.
