The main deficiencies of existing techniques for the spectrophotometry of the sun as a star are examined. A new observational method based on the cyclic scanning of the solar image and on the time integration of the received signal is proposed. The optimal utilization of this method is considered. The implementation of the proposed method on double-diffraction monochromators is discussed along with the role of the aperture diaphragm.
