This paper discusses the realization of a precise astrocamera for manned
orbiting stations. The system design is examined using a block diagram,
and the CCD camera is described, giving the main parameters. The onboard
computer and the software are discussed, and the compression of images
is described. Experimental results with the camera are reviewed.
