The negative results are reported of a SETI search for narrow-band signals in the direction of southern stars chosen primarily for a distance of 50 light years or less and declinations between -40 and -90. The observations included a series of observations around the SETI Ellipsoid originated in the SN1987A at 18 cm and observations around stars HD 21899 and HD 100623 following a suggestion by Arkhipov (1986). Some near-future SETI activities are briefly described.
