We believe that the local topography can account for most of the
positive evidence for non-Newtonian gravity recently reported by Stacey
and co-workers. We show that the Hilton mine site in Queensland,
Australia, is effectively in a valley and speculate on how this feature
could have been missed in the original analysis.
