Scientific paper

Mass spectrometric data on the composition of positive ions at altitudes
between 80 and 85 km are analyzed. The experimental data are examined on
the basis of an ionization-recombination scheme for the transformation
of positive ions. The proposed scheme makes possible a qualitative
interpretation of the variation in ion composition.
