The Cassegrain feed system with feeds located off of the boresight axis of the primary reflector and with the beam aligned on the boresight axis was developed by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for use on their 64m antennas [1]. In this geometry, phase error due to the feeds being off-axis is exactly cancelled by the phase error introduced by tilting the subreflector so that, in the limit of geometric optics, there is zero phase error in the aperture of the primary reflector. The National Radio Astronomy Observatory* is using this type of feed system on the twenty-eight 25m antennas comprising the Very Large Array (VLA) radio telescope which is currently under construction in New Mexico [2]. The geometry of the VLA antenna is shown in Figure 1. The reflectors are shaped for high efficiency. The theory for shaping the offset geometry is given by Potter [3] . A complete description of the feed system has been given previously [2] .
