We propose to observe the polarization of ˜200 pulsars discovered by the Parkes Multibeam Pulsar Survey. This will give the first measurements of the polarization properties of these pulsars, giving new information about the pulsar pulse emission mechanism. We will also obtain rotation measures (RMs), which provide unique probes of the large-scale structure of magnetic fields in our Galaxy. These RM data will be used to further investigate a newly proposed model of the Galactic magnetic field (Han et al. 2006), in which the magnetic fields in all spiral arms are evidently counterclockwise but clockwise in the interarm regions.
