In the Alfvén "plasma cosmology" the Universe does have an initial singularity and is governed by magnetohydrodynamic laws. Instead, in special projective relativity, based on the Fantappie group, the electromagnetic and hydrodynamic fields are "unified" in a single "magnetohydrodynamic field" with 10 components, and a link appears between big-bang cosmology (in its group version) and plasma physics. In this theory the magnetic monopoles are tied with hyperdense matter and the hydrodynamic vortices are tied to the electromagnetic field.
