The nearly simultaneous appearance of several small 'knots' at widely separated locations in the original phase of chromospheric flare development is attributed to the plasma echo effect. It is shown that the plasma echo effect may be quite important in the coronal environment and may lead to the transmission of perturbations in single jumps over large distances and through stability barriers.
