A two-dimensional two-level model calculation of a plasma cloud that was initially Gaussian in the y direction, uniform in the (transverse) x direction of the ambient electric field (the ambient magnetic field being in the z direction), and coupled to the background ionosphere has been carried out by numerical simulation over the two-dimensional x,y mesh, assuming zero temperatures of both the plasma cloud and ionospheric background. The system of equations were followed in time well into the nonlinear regime. The late-time nonlinear spectrum of striations in a system that is representative of a barium plasma cloud in the ionosphere is obtained. It is shown that for the late-time nonlinear evolution of the system, the longer wavelength modes saturate at a higher level than the short-wavelength modes. The power spectrum for plasma cloud striations appears to approach a power law spectrum asymptotically.
