To reveal the planetary-scale disturbances, ionization density at the F-layer peak is examined mainly along the 45 N geomagnetic latitude by the power spectral analysis. It shows a piece of clear evidence of the semi-annual variation with the maximum powers in equinoctial seasons and with the minimum in solstitial ones. Power spectral density augments preferentially over the Eurasian Continent and the east of North America; it seems to be comparably weak over the oceans. The phase differences between different longitudes suggest westward moving planetary waves in April and early May. The latitudinal dependence will be discussed shortly.
