The design of the most relevant mechanisms with respect to the robotics
locomotion subsystem specifications of an exploration planetary rover is
discussed. The mechanisms considered are the wheel setting and driving
device, the axle rotary joints, the payload and axle translation
apparatus. Constraints due to the surroundings are considered.
