The present article presents the results of two experiments performed onboard the Phobos spacecraft, spectrophotometry of albedo in the range 300 - 600 nm and radiometry of intrinsic thermal emission in the range 6 - 50 μm. The thermophysical properties of fine-grained material (regolith) are similar to those of the moon. The reflectance properties of regolith on Phobos are largely heterogenous along the tracks that were studied and were most often associated with topographical features, mainly craters and the age of the craters. In every case the albedo, which is low in absolute value, grows from 350 to 600 nm. Optically modified Martian rocks are the closest analogs to this surface. Similarity to the reflectance spectra of carbonaceous chondrites, which had been expected, was not confirmed.
