In this article the cross-section for the photodisintegration of a bound
state is expressed, order by order in the multipole expansion, in terms of
matrix elements between states living on the three-dimensional torus. The
motivation is to make the process amenable to Monte-Carlo simulations. The case
of the deuteron is discussed.
