An analysis of the phase portraits of Pi2 pulsations has identified four characteristic oscillation types which can serve as the basis of a new Pi2 classification. The nonlinear oscillator is proposed as a model for describing the character of the Pi2 excitation. The proposed classification makes possible a comparison of different Pi2 events associated with such fundamental characteristics of the medium as dispersion, dissipation, and nonlinearity.
