If initial power on small scales is negligible, nonlinear mode coupling can transfer power from large scales to small scales, leading to a density perturbation spectrum on those scales. A functional method is applied to study this case on the basis of a Newtonian description of an expanding fluid in an FRW universe when matter dominated and the behavior of the density perturbation spectrum is investigated.
