Previous studies of a model F2-region (Gliddon 1959a, b; Ferraro 1961) are extended to include the effects of a small electrodynamic drift. The drift is uniform in the space variable, but is an arbitrary function of time. The use of these results is illustrated by calculations carried out for a sinusoidal type of drift of variable phase. Height profiles of the perturbation are given for various phases at noon. The time variation of the perturbation at the height of maximum electron density is also given. Comparison with observations indicates that the magnitude of the vertical lunar tidal electrodynamic drift in the F2-region is about 0.4 m/sec, yielding a three percent variation of [latin small letter f with hook]0F2.
