A numerical investigation is undertaken of the orbits of particles in the gravitational field of barred galaxies for different models of such formations. Attention is given to direct periodic orbits in the corotating frame, and perpendicularity is considered as a basic factor affecting the response density. It is noted that a periodic orbit that is stable in the plane is in general stable for vertical perturbations. It is concluded that the properties of orbits are significantly affected by the specific choice of model.
