Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 entering the Jovian atmosphere suffered ablation and dissociation as a result of interaction with the atmosphere. The comet fragments are modeled as 1012, 1013 and 1014kg with density of 3.0, 1.0, 0.8, 0.5 and 0.2 g/cm3, respectively. The results show that these fragments explode below the ammonia cloud layer, near the 1-bar level.
