Numerical results are presented for calculations of the acceleration of charged particles by strong spherical electromagnetic waves propagating through ionized media. It is shown that all strong wave topologies with the electromagnetic radiation greater than or approximately equal to the magnetic field energy will lead to relevant radiation breakdown, a result which can be of interest in pulsar models.
