Two-Body Problem: Stability, Two-Body Problem: Binaries, Two-Body Problem: Gravitational Field
Scientific paper
The authors will consider the planar motion of two gravitationally attracting bodies one of which is a globe. The stability of steady state motions is studied. The fundamental goal is parametric analysis of the conditions for transition from stability to instability and (or) gyroscopic stability. The results obtained can be applied to analysis of the dynamics of binary stars. The last section of the study will offer a brief analysis of previous studies of the questions touched upon.
