Following the X-ray outburst of GM Sgr (ATEL #43, IAUC #7119) low-resolution spectrum was obtained of GM Sgr on the Hale 200-inch Telescope at Palomar Mountain by S. G. Djorgovski, R. R. Gal, A. Mahabal on 16.25 Sept 1999 UT. The star has extraordinarily strong Balmer emission lines as well as strong He I 5876 Angstrom emission. The lines appear broad with wings extending to at least +/- 6000 km/s.
