The albedo for an inhomogeneous semi-infinite medium is estimated using the Padeapproximants. It is assumed that the single-scattering albedo falls off exponentially with optical depth. Numerical calculations for the semi-infinite albedo using the (0/1) Padeapproximants are presented. These values are compared with those given by Sobolev (1975) and with those calculated by Siewert and Garcia (1981) using the F sub N method. It is shown that the (0/1) Padeapproximants give a good accuracy in comparison with the exact values of Sobolev or with the F sub N method.
