Spatial variations of thermospheric temperature at middle and low latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere at F-region heights (150-300 km) are investigated on the basis of AE-C satellite data for postnoon conditions in January 1974, a period of low solar activity. Packets of medium-scale and large-scale wavelike fluctuations of thermospheric temperature which characteristic linear scales of 540-1150 km were observed.
