The role of ozone in the atmosphere is examined, and methods based on absorption and emission spectroscopy for measuring atmospheric ozone are described. An experimental study of the effects of temperature, pressure, and a mixture of ozone and oxygen or nitrogen on millimeter absorption spectra is considered. In addition, emission spectra are presented along with ozone concentration profiles as a function of altitude.
