What governs dwarf galaxy evolution? Do galaxy mass and intrinsic processes dominate, or does the environment have a major impact? We are carrying out a survey of nearby dwarf galaxies to measure their structural parameters and integrated colors through ground-based imaging, to determine star formation rates through their H(alpha) emission, and to measure tip of the red giant branch distances and recent star formation histories through a 200-orbit HST snapshot survey. Here we propose to supplement these data through spectroscopic oxygen abundances and velocities. These data will allow us to study dwarf galaxy evolution and enrichment histories as a function of position within galaxy groups or in the field, and proximity to massive galaxies. In addition, the velocity information together with the photometric distances will enable us to study the kinematics of nearby groups, determine dynamic masses, and use the dwarf satellites as probes of the dark halos of the massive galaxies.
