The latest observational results on the 511 keV annihilation radiation have suggested a possible diffuse origin for this emission-Share et al.-. Recently Ramaty and Lingenfelter have interpreted these observations in terms of a variable point source and a diffuse interstellar source of positrons; they have given an evaluation of 26Al and 56Co contribution to the diffuse 511 keV flux while that of 44Ti has been given more recently by Woosley. Here are discussed the nature and distribution of the various e+ sources. It is shown that the diffuse 511 keV emission can be explained by nucleosynthesis of galactic SN and novae.
