Scientific paper

In order to provide detailed information on the orientation and nature of compressional features (wrinkled ridges) east of the Tharsis plateau, the author has examined the morphology and measured the length and orientation of 1123 linear ridge segments in the Lunae Palus and Coprates quadrangle. These data are analyzed both for comparison with stress trajectories predicted by existing loading models, and to determine the degree of circular symmmetry about the Tharsis plateau.
